Dream High (Korean: 드림하이) is a South Korean television drama series broadcast by KBS in 2011. It features Suzy, Taecyeon, IU, Wooyoung, Ham Eun Jung and Kim Soo-hyun. It aired on 3 January 2011 and finished on 28 February 2011 after 16 successful episodes. This drama is popular among many teenagers, and was a highly rated show. A special episode, where the cast of the show performed the Dream High Special Concert on a stage near Seoul, South Korea was aired by Korean Broadcasting System on 1 March 2011. A second season for Dream High was announced by KBS on 17 March 2011, and began airing on 30 January 2012.

Six students at Kirin Art High School work to achieve their dreams of becoming stars in the Korean music industry. During the drama, the students learn how to develop their singing, songwriting and dancing skills while also undergoing personal growth. They also go through their love life and start to develop feelings for each other. Each one of the students has his or her own strengths and weaknesses, but with the support and guidance of each other, they strive to debut on stage.

Bae Suzy as Go Hye-mi
Originally from a wealthy family, after her mother's death, her father's business failed and their family fell into debt and her father went to Canada to get help from Hye-mi's aunt. Hye-mi is pursued by debt collector Ma Doo-shik and his men for much of the beginning of the drama.
Taecyeon as Hyun Si-hyuk (but called by his friends as Jin-guk)
Jin Guk is a childhood friend of Go Hye-mi and he constantly tries to help her. He tries to get Hye-mi to remember their childhood memories. He excels primarily at dancing and rapping. He beat the company president after the president raped Baek-Hee
Kim Soo-hyun as Song Sam Dong
Song Sam-Dong (Kim Soo-Hyun) lives in the country side and dreams of becoming an owner of a stock farm. He falls in love with Go Hye-Mi at first sight and follows her to Kirin High School of Art.
Ham Eun Jung as Yoon Baek-hee
Baek-hee is Hye-mi's best friend and sidekick at their old school, but she is betrayed by Hye-mi during the Kirin School audition. She is devastated by the betrayal and becomes Hye-mi's biggest rival. She is love with Jin-Guk. She was raped by her company president. Later on in the series she rekindles her relationship with Hye-Mi
IU (singer) as Kim Pil-suk
Kim Pil-suk first appears as a girl wearing a sushi mascot costume during the auditions. She is a girl with a beautiful voice and perfect pitch but is overweight.
Jang Wooyoung as Jason
Jason is a Korean-American student who excels mainly in dancing but is also good at singing. He is courteous and has good manners, leading to misunderstandings with Pil-suk, who believes that he does this because he likes her. Jason's talent really shock Sam-dong and Jin-guk.
